Hailing from the land of Breakbeat and Brown Water, Micah McGee, aka Strooly, is on a mission fueled by heavy bass and black coffee. Relatively new to the game, Strooly pulls inspiration from all genres making sure to appeal to everyone listening. “I want to do everything I can to make sure I’m not pigeon-holed into one genre, so I make sure to keep a plethora of genres, Footwork, Grime, House, Moombahton, Future Bass, Hip Hop, etc., in heavy rotation whether I’m at home producing or out playing a show.”

During the last few years, Strooly has found himself involved in a number of projects, including co-founding Voodoo Village Recordings, a forward thinking bass label based out of Memphis, TN, resident DJing at Electrocity, the largest and longest running dance party also in Memphis, and most recently his two-piece project GRIM, a dark-bass post-trap project composed along side close friend Anthoney Carter. In his brief time performing, Strooly has shared the stage with talent such as 12th Planet, Skrillex, Dillon Francis, Alvin Risk, Deathface, Myrryrs, and many others. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming releases from Strooly, GRIM, and several other up the sleeve projects coming forth in the near future.

GRIM [Anthoney Carter // Micah McGee], Memphis/Nashville, TN, USA is a post-trap, bass-heavy duo, formed to explore the concepts of mood, atmosphere, and aesthetic through live and electronic instrumentation.

GRIM’s first official release, Faded Chapter 1, a mixtape of all exclusive re-edit material, was dubbed “original, inventive, perplexing, dark, apocalyptic, and creepy” by media outlets and was noted as Mixtape of the Year in 2011 by Generation Bass. Their debut EP, 7Sins, out May 8th on Voodoo Village Recordings & Fat Sandwich Records, is a five-song collection of all-original tracks that were created to individually portray a unique vibe and experience, all while constrained under a consistently slow, leaned-out tempo.

7Sins will be available for free 320kbps download, along with a full length video to the album and a limited edition 7” vinyl – with 2 VIP tracks for purchase – on May 8th, 2012.

Inspired by southern hip-hop, techno, punk rock & b horror films, the New Orleans native “Force Feed Radio” is made up of Bryan Normand (aka Kid Kamillion) & Patrick Bowden aka (Money P). The DJ/Production duo blend their love for bass-heavy electronic music through the mediums of mixtapes and all night dance parties. “We use the classic New Orleans Hip-Hop business model to help brand our music,” says Bryan. The team also incorporates “cut and paste” style visuals to illustrate its DJ sets.

Force Feed Radio has over a decade of experience DJing with a crate full of custom edits and remixes, and the duo’s Grindhouse EP will be out soon on Voodoo Village Records. So, be expecting to hear them at a club or festival near you.
